Why is coconut oil such an attractive product?
It boosts your metabolism
Unlike most other saturated fats, coconut oil is built primarily of medium-chain triglycerides which are not stored as fat in the human body. Instead, they are converted into energy.
It facilitates your digestion
Coconut oil has been found to benefit digestive disorders including irritable bowel syndrome and microbial related tummy bugs. Fatty acids in coconut oil contain antimicrobial properties, which have a soothing effect on bacteria, candida, or parasites that cause poor digestion.
It decreases your cholesterol
Coconut oil has been shown to improve overall cholesterol by simultaneously increasing HDL (good) and lowering LDL (bad) levels. It does this by helping the body to convert cholesterol in the bloodstream into a usable form.
It moisturizes your skin
Full of antioxidant vitamin E, coconut oil is a wonderful natural moisturizer that can help to heal damaged skin, reduce signs of ageing.
It protects your hair
Just as it does for the skin, coconut oil can also protect hair from sun damage and dehydration. Massage organic virgin coconut oil into the scalp and work through hair before visiting the beach or swimming pool to shield skin and hair from harmful UV radiation and chemicals.
It reduces your urge to eat
Keytone bodies formed by MCTs have the added benefit of reducing hunger and cravings. When eaten every day, a serving or two of coconut oil is a proven effective tool to help you feel full faster, avoid overeating and snack less between meals.

Best of all, coconut oil is a great anti-bacterial agent.
Around half of the fatty acids in coconut oil are lauric acid and it is particularly good at killing bacteria, viruses, and fungi; therefore, it’s great in helping you stave off infections when used externally.
To get the most potent antibacterial properties, a Journal of Medicinal Food study found virgin coconut oil—rather than refined—to be your best bet. On the other hand, when you ingest coconut oil, it reacts with enzymes to forms a monoglyceride called monolaurin. And guess what? Monolaurin is great for killing harmful pathogens, too!

Organic and Fair Trade
Kenstate sources the majority of their coconuts from over 1,800 Organic and Fair Trade certified farmers in over 40 villages across the Kenyan coast. There are many ways that Organic and Fair Trade certifications benefit people and mother nature.
Organic means non-GMO, a healthier soil base, no mono-cropping and no unnatural pesticides ending up in drinking water or killing friendly pollinators.
Among other things, Fair Trade means that 5% of funds from Fair Trade certified products goes in a Special Projects Fund, which is managed by the farmers and Kentaste employees, and which provides funding for community development projects.
Recent projects include desks donated to rural primary schools, improved access to health and infrastructure services, and agronomy and financial management training.
Kenstate pays more money for Fair Trade and Organic coconuts, so farmers earn additional revenue, allowing them to better support their families, as well as reinvest into their businesses.
Kenstate provides free lunches for every one of their factory team members to look after every family member.
Kentaste is like a family and since 2011 is committed to enriching the lives of their farmers, team members, and loyal customers. This is achieved through building sustainable, enduring relationships and selling high quality, delicious, locally sourced products.
